Who we are...

The Philippine Aeronautical Information Service is a service established under the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines within a defined area coverage ensuring the provision of aeronautical information concerning the entire territory of the State.

The AIS maintains and manages all related data within the Philippine FIR, and process it to an information essential to flight - to satisfy the needs of the users (pilots, document producing agencies, ATS, etc.). However, the effective functioning of AIS is dependent upon the co-operative effort of all other services, such as communications, aerodromes, ATS, etc., since raw data must be originated by such services. With this in mind, AIS is continually looking for ways of improving the lines of communications and harmonize working relationship.

AIS also maintains liaison with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), Bureau of Customs (Dept. of Foreign Affairs), Bureau of Immigration and Deportation (Dept. of Justice), National Quarantine office (Dept. of Health), Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), Dept. of Tourism (DOT), and other international & national agencies.

The Aeronautical Information Service Department is located at the Ground Floor of the Air Traffic Management Center inside the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines compound of Pasay City.

Particular Responsibilities

AIS
Quality Management System

  1. To provide quality aeronautical information/data and charting services to meet the demands of Philippine AIS internal and external customers;
  2. To ensure that work space, hardware and software are available, maintained and appropriate;
  3. To ensure provision of supplies needed in the Publication of AIS products;
  4. To ensure that AIS products are accurately published and produced in such way that users will be able to operate safely and efficiently;
  5. To ensure the AIS products are distributed in a timely manner following the AIRAC schedule;
  6. To ensure provision of human resources through a nationwide competitive examination;
  7. To ensure that AIS personnel possess skills, knowledge and attitude (as established in the program for continuous learning for AIS personnel) required to perform the specific assigned duties;
  8. To ensure that initial and periodic assessments be established that require personnel to demonstrate the required skills and competencies; and
  9. To ensure that during periodic assessments, shortfalls are detected and be corrected immediately.
